Position Description: Assembly Operator: Skill Level 3

Purpose: The skill level 3 assembly operator’s purpose is to accomplish product production from post-
incoming inspection up to final inspection in the areas where training has been received, maintaining the
highest quality production standards, a pleasant and professional working attitude, a responsive manner
toward authority, and a clean work environment.

Requirements:

  1. Learning, understanding and capably exercising all aspects of Aspen’s assembly and production processes and capabilities on production devices and engineering projects, including, but not limited to:
    1. Die handling and sorting capability
    2. An understanding of regularly-used chemistries, selection, & cure schedules; to include furnace
    3. Profiling and furnace and oven operations
    4. 3rd op inspection capability
    5. Dam and encapsulation capabilities
    6. Die attach capabilities
    7. Ink marking capabilities, including set-up, calibration, and use of ink markers
    8. Microscope use and manipulation
    9. Verification capabilities, to include die attach, ink mark, and wirebond


Responsibilities
: Include, but are not limited to:

  1. Digital camera use and manipulation
  2. Understand ISO 9001:2000 quality requirements and verify ISO implementation in all procedures and production
  3. Manage job inventory per established methods and procedures
  4. Participate in cleanroom and equipment cleaning and monitoring as necessary


Reporting Relationships
: The assembly operator is responsible to the production manager

In addition, each person shall:

  • Seek out cross-training opportunities in the cleanroom when and where needed and possible
  • Maintain a professional and courteous atmosphere in the workplace at all times
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Identify areas of concern on jobs that customers should be aware of or would appreciate knowing
  • Participate in customer discussions when required in areas of expertise
  • Develop an awareness of production-related costs
  • Help balance priorities to maximize revenue when possible (expedites, etc.)
  • Initiate dialogue related to processes or programs which could be improved, and identify and present ideas and concerns related to facilities and equipment
  • Personally demonstrate the attributes identified in the Aspen Technologies Creed and encourage others to do the same
